Dear Justin,

I am still alive. I forgot that this project exists. Other noteworthy news: I started Crossfit, and Judith and Robert came for a visit and with Claudine went to see Arcade Fire at the Bell Centre. I’ve set up a studio in the basement and put a sliding door in the new guest room upstairs, where we put the new Gus Modern Flipside sofabed. I worked a bit last week for Artexte, but I don’t think I’m mention it to EI. Tomorrow we are having a yard sale to get rid of all the junk that accumulates over time.

Dear Justin,

I am still alive. I survived our yard sale today, but Claudine was the real star. I mostly played with the kids or hung around or helped Rose with her lemonade stand. We collectively made about $20, which will be great for grocery purchases this week. I get an EI payment on Tuesday but after I pay my overdraft and my (smaller) share of bills and mortgage I’ll be wiped out again. I’ve decided to not tell EI about any of my small contracts, and only advise them of the CCA, since it will be more than a month full-time. Meantime I need to get cracking on new work in the new basement studio, but I feel a bit like Charlie Kaufman in the film Adaptation. I have painters block. At least I am not fat, and Crossfit is helping me become less skinny.

Dear Justin,

I am still alive. I started a little painting today in the studio, just to get the juices flowing. In the afternoon I wento to Oboro to help with the install of Skeena Reece’s works, which just arrived this afternoon. I was lighting before hanging. Did Crossfit at 6am and am tired from the dead lifts and pushups. Crossfit pushups are so hard!

Dear Justin,

I am still alive. Still at Cross Fit 3 times per week, was at SBC today for install, helped Pip move a couch up her stairs and down again (wrong colour), and still have painters’ block (though I am gathering info and hope to start really painting next week. For what it is worth.

Dear Justin,

I am still alive. I am surviving the crazy heatwave, working most days in the basement studio, where it is nice and cool and I can hear the metro passing underneath every few minutes. The kids and I went on a long hike up Mt. Rougemont on the weekend in search of a swimming lake, I was surprised and impressed by how long they walked, almost 6km by my estimates. I still have painters block a bit but am working through some things, will hopefully start producing results by the end of the week.
