I survived a day of de-install and wall prep at SBC. I’m hoping that I can continue surviving picking up odd art handling and installation jobs, even odder renovation jobs, and continue making art, and feeding the family through deficit spending. I other words, I’m a little bit stressed about money. Have you noticed I’m sending you emails from my phone now? Just trying to change it up a bit.

I survived another Easter, a visit to a cabin à sucre, and hanging out at a hotel off the 40 in Baie d’Urfe swimming in the pool with the kids and then watching Frozen in the room rented by my inlaws. Today I survived an afternoon of play dates and visits and now am worn out.

I survived a couple hours at SBC bringing plywood there and making a makeshift 10’x6’ platform for one of the artists, then off to see my therapist (we talked about Rose and horses and New Brunswick) and then I met Rose at her school and joined her class on their last trip to Ruelle de l’avenir, a weekly workshop they’ve been doing since last fall. Oona came over afterwards and the girls did their homework together while I made a Hello Fresh recipe. Clo had forgotten to cancel her account so their strategy scored another victory. And I survived suddenly harvesting a first crop of mushrooms that sprung up in the past couple days, I swear if I hung out downstairs I could watch them grow. Now trying to dry them with a fan.

I survived a full day at SBC, installing artworks. Came home, picked up kids, made supper. Put kids to bed, read stories. Harvested more mushrooms, will try freezing these ones to try them fresh, not dried. The other batch is drying nicely, though Sol is annoyed that I am using the fan he usually puts on before bed.

I survived a good session with my therapist on Thursday, but Rose wasn’t feeling good when I picked her up from school and she was vomiting off and on throughput the night. She didn’t develop a fever until today, Sol stayed home too as he threw up his Weetabix, though he never got a fever. The kids and I watched a ton of movies: Moana, the Toy Story trilogy, and the Muppet Movie. I wrapped up a Tim Horton trading card painting that Shawn bought and mailed it off to him in Halifax. He’d already transferred the money but Clo doesn’t think I asked for enough. I think $150 unframed was a fair price, but maybe because there is so little of the paper left that I made from Tim Horton cups ten years ago. Anyway my bank account is in the red now and probably will be for some time to come. I had to postpone cutting the wood for Anne’s bench until Monday. And I missed my second appointment for blood work, which is annoying as I want to get off the anti-depressants, and missing appointments just sabotages the process. I guess I could always try to quit cold turkey.

I survived another day with sick kids, though Sol was good today. It was last night after midnight that he got up for a glass of water and then vomited all up and down the hall.
It was the launch of the Tuck spring collection and 2 of the new paintings sold! So my confidence received a boost, as well as my bank account.

I survived putting together Anne’s bench today, and a session with my therapist. Yesterday Mo and I hung out in the morning he helped me with the wood cuts then we split a growler for lunch, then I spent the afternoon at Pip’s putting up shelves.

I survived the return flight to Montreal, finishing and installing the bench and bookshelf at Anne and Laurent’s (with Mohanad’s help or it wouldn’t have happened), and then the opening at Oboro which was amazing, and the after party and my first sampling of the new mushrooms (which are awesome) and arriving home really, really late (pissing off our babysitter), and then trying to keep everything together today.

I survived my first day back at the CCA, working on yet another platform anne faux wall. Did you know MDF comes in 10 by 5 foot sheets?
I signed a petition from Lead Now against your plan to subsidize Kinder Morgan to help prop up the pipeline in “National interests”. Keep it in the ground, and put whatever subsidizing towards making renewables more competitive. It’s not rocket science.
We’re watching High Maintenance lately. Want to go to a Day Rave in Brooklyn now. Sent from somewhere in space

I am surviving terrible gas. I had crazy diarrhea Sunday morning which persisted through to yesterday and I am still gassy. Met my psychoanalyst after lunch and then came back to the CCA, technically finished putting up the wall, just some minor finishing to do before all the plaster then paint. Everything seems to be on schedule.

I survived another day at the CCA, took an hour off after lunch to see my therapist, picked up the kids after work including watching one of Rose’s friends for a bit, made them supper and Jeff and Kelly and Jude are visiting and Kelly washed dishes and prepared a supper for us and Jeff’s older son Sam came over and it was a pleasant evening and now I’m going to bed and tomorrow have a fun project of fitting 35’ of hardwood dowel together to hang a bunch of clothes. Odd, but it somehow feels how I don’t know how to explain it just tired I guess.

I survived a 3/4 day at the CCA, leaving early for a follow-up appointment with the doctor treating me at the clinic. I asked about going off the meds but she said it was for at least a year. That’s a bit of a bummer, as they keep me too neutral and I have zero libido.

And, according to the questionnaire I filled out yesterday at the clinic, still technically depressed. But the day went by well at the CCA and I had a good session with my therapist after lunch. Helped out for a half hour at Rose’s school for the Un art à l’autre event tomorrow.

I survived another day at CCA, which today my therapist and I discussed in terms of how much it contributed or didn’t to my depression. Had a bit of a mild breakthrough during my session, realizing that I really need to get myself going on my various art projects, get some applications out there, go on some residencies.
Fell asleep while putting the kids to bed, so wasn’t able to do anything else tonight. Registered Rose for a week of camp later in July, as we are coordinating so she goes at the same time as Kaiya.

I survived the big neighbourhood rouelle cleanup today, then supper at Anne and Laurent’s to celebrate Éli’s birthday, all this while overtired from mushrooms last night with Pascal and Mo as we had a bit of a boys night in.

Survived my last day at CCA, woke up early to load the summer tires into the car and drive to the garage to get new brakes and a bunch of wheel bearings. The day dragged on a bit, mostly cleaning up. Picked up the kids, made supper, played Lego, read Calvin and Hobbes, washed dishes, washed laundry, listened to the Daily.
