Chloe and the kids Continued on well I came back into the city with the tow truck and our car. So I had did Nite it off and joined Sarah and Pascal at op do cooler wrong, at Sandy bit of space down near the base of the Jacques County a bridge, where there are activities and DJs and fun. We heard a great DJ later in the night Who played under an electric sky and we danced until midnight. Now I am meeting Pascal to get a commune a dog to go get clothes and the kids. Pool day planned for today as it is so hot.

Heatwave day 2. Went to the back to see the show by Rafael Lowe’s and no hammer, which the kids quite enjoyed. Lots of interactive stuff. We went mostly for the AC. We came home, And the kids have been watching video ever cents. I went to vetoes to watch the end of the Belgian/Japan and match. What a finish! It truly is a beautiful game. I’m getting some more beer, and will retreat to the basement where we have natural AC, And finish my technical writer for art in the open. I’ve decided to read letters from the box, which means I need to format and print the past seven years, and bring all of 2018 either in book form or loose pages.

Day Three of the heatwave was also first day of the de-install. It went quite smoothly, with the only hiccup being that I couldn’t find the on switch for the scissor lift. I thought the batteries had a problem or had discharged but Marc, who re-installed the charger last week, had to tell me on the phone where that doohickey was, and then of course it worked ok. The rest of the day was spent pulling down projectors and cables. Tonight I picked the car up from Canadian Tire (diagnostics, labour and a new alternator = $386) and met up with Clo and the kids at Oona’s place, had a veggie dog, then went off to meet my therapist. Now I should be going through my Dear PM archives to find some things to add to my Artexte file but I’m too tired and hot.

Dear Justin,
The auto-select is beginning to bore me.
Some good news today: the Jazz Fest cancelled the remaining shows of Slāv.
Also, I’ve managed to overspend my Visa limit, and am almost maxed out on my line of credit and my overdraft. But I am going to get my first pay-check from VOX this week so ice cream for everyone!
I really should be looking for those documents to give to Artexte for them to include in the Baie-St-Paul symposium this summer but I’m going to bed. I’ll look tomorrow morning if I can get up early.

Dear Justin,
Yeah, that auto-select thing is not going so well is it?
Spent the day at work figuring out a bit more the media players and the networking at Vox. And sanded.
Started watching Black Panther with the kids tonight, then got lost responding to the comments about the cancellation (some call it censorship) of Slāv. Read Robert Lepage’s self-centred, aggressive and offensive “apology”. It’s a shame, seeing Le Confessionnal was a revelation for me. Can someone’s success and privilege blind them to making bad art? Of course it can!
Aaron got the Crossing paintjng in the mail today. Also I was paid for my first 2 weeks at VOX, so now I have a little money, enough for minimum payments, groceries and my anti-depressants. I’ve misplaced all my bank cards and wallet however. Do you ever lose your wallet?

Dear Justin,
Rose woke me up at 3am with a restricted airway and bad cough, so I called 811 and then we got into the car and went to the emergency at the Glen. The diagnostic is croup. We were back home by 6.
I’m still wrapped up in all sorts of online posts and quasi-debates about Slāv. It is disheartening to read how much support Lepage and Bonifassi are getting. The majority of the francophone press are totally shitting on the protestors and the « muzzling » of this work. Sad.
You know what else is sad? Kids separated from their parents at the US border.
I also read on the facebook today that Duchamp most likely did not submit the R. Mutt urinal to that Armory show in 1917. Know her name: Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven.

Dear Justin,
Rose stayed home today as her cough was still bad, so I stayed home with her. I mailed a bunch of my Dear PM volumes to PEI and formatted volumes 11-15 and sent those off to Lulu for printing and binding and subsequent shipping to PEI. The long road of copy-pasting 2016-17 and then formatting them into book form still lies ahead. And what to do about 2018? All these text emails. Did I tell you I lost my wallet and bank cards? I was convinced that they were in the house but they haven’t turned up. When I called to cancel my credit card I learned why my debit card has a Visa logo on it: because it can be used for online purchases as a Visa! So I finally booked mine and the kids’ return flights using my Aeroplan points. The bank lady also upped my overdraft so now I can spend almost $2K of someone else’s money. This will come in handy this summer, as I am riding deficit spending to the limits.

Dear Justin,
Auto-spell was close there: we did go to Parc Jarry tonight to hear the OSM, us and about twenty-five thousand other people. I had good intentions to de-clutter the house tonight but I can barely stay awake so I’ll do it in the morning. Marjorie is coming to clean tomorrow.
I found my wallet and ALL my cards, today after work. It was tucked deep into the bottom of one of the pockets in that blue MEC bag.
It was hard to be at work today: Rose had a very heavy start to her day, confused about her day camps, very emotional. And I missed the France-Belgium match.

Dear justin, tonight there was a presentation of that PT parents in Jerry Park by the theatre company called La Villa. We brought zack with us, who had stayed for supper and, according to him, eat fish for the first time in his life. The kids all played soccer with other kids after the theatre show was over. After getting home, the kids and I watched Nailed it on Netflix before they went to bed. I took homework home with me, and spent the last while trying to open new sketch up file is in my old sketch up. Success! We have a team meeting tomorrow, and there are lots of loose ends to try to tie down before I go away. Claudine is back tomorrow, I still don’t know how she managed that year that I was in Ottawa during the weeks. Single parenting is tiring!

Dear Justin,
Sorry I didn’t write last night. I had to go pick up Rose at lunchtime from her day camp because she had a terrible ear ache. Claudine arrived home from her getaway in the Laurentian‘s, and so I was able to go back to work and stayed late. Clo and the kids left for Jacksonville today, but roses year is starting to bleed, Chloe calls it juicy, so they are going to see a clinic tomorrow. I have the night to myself and thought I would go see a movie, but ended up staying at home and watching the Square. Which I found a little more troubling than humorous. Now I’m off to bed with the latest copy of the New Yorker.

Dear justin,
I slept in this morning and missed the first half of the world cup final, but watch the second half at Dean and Karen’s, who were hosting a little World Cup viewing barbecue. Pascal and I had gone out to see session victim at bank met you last night, which was good but not extraordinary. The mushrooms kept me up late. Went to S Roberts place tonight to help install another AC unit, and otherwise I have been trying to format the last couple years of deer p.m. letters to be ready for art in the open performance on August 25. Mohanad and I are going to tackle building the rest of Anne and Laurent‘s fence in the next couple days. A little extra money will be very useful before we leave on vacation on Friday.

Dear Justin,
we are still alive, we made it to Bonaventure and kayaked down the river yesterday and drive to Rocher Percé today and the kids and I almost made it to the hole, we were soaking wet from the attempt and had left all our luggage in the tent. Back now, ready for bed. The campsites at Cime Aventures come equipped with rain shelters made from used advertising banners, which is keeping us dry despite the rain. Tent smells like feet though. I am so glad my federal tax return arrived in the mail the day we left Montreal. Now I don’t feel so broke, even though 2/3 was to pay my debt to Revenue Quebec, and 1/3 was to clear my overdraft and bring my checking account back to 0. Heck, Revenue Quebec can wait a bit longer. Long live summer vacation!

Dear Justin,
Camping is giving me really vivid weird dreams. So far there has been visions of that old sci-fi tv show V, my grandfather Poppy, and numerous apocalyptic scenarios. Maybe the dreams and uneasy sleep is because I haven’t been taking my anti-depressants. I want to go a week or so without, to see if I see a difference and also because I want to get nice and high this weekend. Today I got sunburned as we hung out by the pools and in the river.

Dear Justin,
We packed up our campsite and stopped at Miguasha National Park to see fossils on our way to NB. Car broke down on highway #11 near Nash Creek. We had the car towed to Bathurst. Claude, the driver, took me with him to get his tow truck so I could follow him in his pickup with Clo and and the kids. We found a motel room for the night just down the street from the mechanic, Curt, who comes highly recommended but I fear something serious (and seriously expensive) has gone wrong. Leaking oil and then knocking and then a nasty stall: not good. We might be camping here for a bit until we know what’s what.

I am still alive. I survived a drive around the suburbs and the afternoon at the Q-Plex outdoor pool. Made supper from the Hello Fresh box dropped off yesterday. Have you heard that KANATA has been cancelled? Why do some “creators” take themselves so seriously that they won’t consider altering their “freedom of expression” to be less racist? I ordered a copy of White Fragility from Amazon, finally found my summer reading.

I am still alive. I survived a nuit blanche last night that involved great friends, stories, drinks and drugs. Got Rose off to Snider mountain this afternoon – she and Kaiya were so happy to be reunited and off to camp together. Clo made a Hello Fresh for us upon returning to Into the Wild and Sol gorged on Paw Patrol while we watched The Insult.
