Dear Justin,
Sorry I doubled another number, but whatever, it’s not the most important part of this project, it’s more to help me administer it.
I had a busy weekend, working both Saturday and Sunday with James on the One Key installation in the McGill library, then at VOX for Nuit Blanche. They had 505 visitors – the same number of votes I received in 2015.
The de-install started this morning at VOX, I put together a dream team of sorts: Myles, Atom and Eduardo joins. We made good progress today figuring out how to make a complicated hanging system for the history of VOX for the lobby, and getting all the projectors down and cabling with enough time to set up the ping pong table.
I’m home now for supper, laundry and a haircut before I head over to Jess’s for a sleepover. We adore one another. I think I’m in love. It certainly makes it easier to put my Ex out of my mind, even though I heard Steve the DJ was playing at Jo’s party that I almost took Jess to on Saturday night. I don’t need that kind of stress at the moment, it is way easier to just avoid them completely.
Oh, and SRoberts came over for supper with Gloria last night, it was a great little visit.

Dear Justin,
Happy Birthday, Christopher Lloyd! That song that Andrew and Courtney made for me back in 2003 still cracks me up, and my kids love it too. I met my folks and kids after work yesterday to go see a movie, Call of the Wild, which was entertaining for about 20 minutes and then just bottomed out. Then the kids were over-tired and cranky and mostly just sad and upset that I can’t spend more time with them this week. They don’t quite understand that not everyone gets this week as a vacation. Tonight we are going out to eat at a restaurant and they will meet Jess for the first time. I don’t really know how that will go, but I guess we’ll find out soon. Work is already stressing me out, building the 3 video walls is going slow, and I am worried about projection distances, ratios, formats and video quality. I keep having dreams about work, and I still think too much about my Ex.

Dear Justin,
Last night was magical, everyone got along swimmingly, so much so that when Jess called me tonight both Rose and Sol wanted to talk with her. She took me to a burlesque show after supper, it was super-fun. Stayed over at her place and we were up loud and late. Worked today, rushed home to eat with kids and folks, and caught a taxi to the airport. Am now in SJ, at Judith and Robert’s, ready for bed and a day of work tomorrow, then a day at the cottage.

Dear Justin,
I am still alive, enjoying some R&R on the Kingston Penninsula with my best friends. Work was very smooth and enjoyable yesterday, Judith and I have a great synergy and work quickly and effectively together. Robert cooked and we all hung out talking and having some wine until not-too-late. Spoke with Jess on the phone as we missed one another.

Dear Justin,
I made it back to MTL on the early bird flight Monday morning, then worked all day, then went to Jess’s and then we went to Alexis and Atom’s for supper, then the last couple days were a bit of a blur as I was up quite late and work is intense, I have lots of plastering to do, there was a container full of trash from Mathieu’s show, there is a lot of painting to do and the projectors or media haven’t been tested in the spaces yet probably because I am afraid they won’t work.
Went to karaoke with Jess and a group of her friends at Normandie on Atateken. I did Total eclipse of the heart and 1990, totally out of key and barely mumbled through a third of Jean Leloup’s lyrics. Jess did a show tune from Wicked and a song by Lizzie; she nailed both.
Home with Sol tonight for a special mid-week sleepover. Excited for heading to Ottawa on Friday night with Jess. Going to bed early tonight for a change.

Dear Justin,
Jess and I still went to ottawa Friday night but the Gallery didn’t announce its’ 2-week closure until after we had arrived. We had a good trip and a leisurely drive home on the #148, then spent yesterday with the kids in a Covid-19 home residency working on crafts. Rose wants to be a book-maker now, and I now know how to knit.
I’m at work today, the kids with Valérie, I don’t want to be here but I have a feeling MJ will want to keep to the schedule and have the show open for the 27th, which just seems ridiculous. I just want to be with my kids. Self-quarantine sounds like a dream.

Dear Justin,
I am still alive, no corona virus so far as I can tell. Jess spent 3 nights with us this week, the kids absolutely adore her. I’m at her place for the weekend, still have to work next week as planned.

Dear Justin,
Jess wants me to pass along to you het wishes that Sophie and your kids are all doing ok. These can be stressful times for kids especially if they are faced with uncertainty.
Happy Spring Equinox btw. We went outside once for a walk around Parc Laurier. Mostly stayed inside, lots of sex, Stardew Valley video games, knitting and watching the Oland Murder slightly biased CBC doc.
I’m still uncertain about his guilt or innocence.
I’m still spending more time thinking about my Ex than I would like. I can’t tell if I hate her or should just forgive and forget her.

Dear Justin,
I am still alive.
The subject line of this letter is my favourite number and the answer to the question of Life, the Universe and Everything.
No coronavirus yet, no symptoms. Just hanging out at Jess’s: eating, reading, talking, screwing, watching, talking with friends and family, enjoying each other, cooking and caring for each other. About to watch Slums of Beverly Hills.

Dear Justin,
I am still alive, but holy shit WTF happened with Coronavirus and Quebec? It shocked VOX into shutting down, we stopped work on the final week of install. I was told to take my computer home to continue to work remotely on maybe upcoming shows? Who really knows. I am glad to be home and tomorrow I spend the day with my kids and an overnight with Sol. I started a farm on Stardew Valley and listened to a podcast episode of Cool Mules while knitting a scarf for Rose. I will start painting again, soon, very very soon. And I ordered a Tushy bidet attachment but it won’t arrive until end of April.

Dear Justin,
Had a great day with the kids this afternoon, the Ex dropped them off for me at noon and we went for walks (mostly to the Scotiabank nearby on Parc to get my new Tangerine card working but of course it still isn’t – I don’t really want to get into all the details suffice to say I will or should be writing a Kafka-esque novella based on it), and playing Stardew, and painting, and knitting. Even amidst a pandemic, life is good.

Dear Justin,
I am still alive, not symptoms beyond the sore throat and runny nose. Is runny nose even a symptom? Did no VOX work today, spent a torrid morning and adult evening with Jess as both kids were back with my Ex. Got them tonight and almost immediately Sol is acting up and after supper hit Rose hard and lost his video game privileges for tomorrow, which will make the day excruciating I’m sure, but we’ll get through it, we always do.

Dear Justin,
I am still alive. BTW thanks for the detailed COVID-19 reply the other day, it was very interesting. But Jess has changed her tune regarding your goatee and now thinks it looks dumb. Maybe a full beard would appear more stately and sophisticated for the current end times? My beard is growing in quite full but it still feels a bit too wiry; I had hoped it would soften up a bit.
Had a pretty fun day with the kids, they figured out how to operate the GoPro that Pip gave us and so they filmed themselves rolling down a hill, climbing a tree and running some parcours. Didn’t play too many video games but watched 2 episodes of Drag Race.
I’m still knitting.

Dear Justin,
I am still alive, but I still have a sore throat. Quite day today, it was raining all day but the kids and I still went for a walk and captured some GoPro footage of tree-climbing and remaining snow mountain climbing. Trying to limit screen time to under 4 hrs per day – tricky, when they want to play Stardew Valley so much. And watch Drag Race. We transplanted a lot of the seedlings that have sprouted up in the past week, and Rose painted a rainbow, and they did play together well today – as well as siblings do, I suppose – but I have no idea how I am going to get 20 hours of VOX work done this week. By 9pm I am zonked myself and just want to knit.

Dear Justin,
I am still alive, still with a sore throat and still exhausted from the day, “It’s always the same old days” as Rose put it on my birthday card. But boy, juggling 2 kids all day long is a challenge if you don’t want to just plunk them in front of a screen all day. We are making paintings and went for a long walk but I am also trying to do some VOX work and also gotta cook and clean. I’m not complaining, I actually like doing just this.
Now Jess is sending me real estate listings for cabins and shacks for under $50K throughout Quebec. Do you think prices will tank what with the Covid-19 and Coronavirus? Are we levelling the curve yet? Will it all be back to normal by Easter?
